Sam is a Director in the Assurance and Consultancy Division responsible for the statutory audits of the ASX Listed companies engaged in the manufacturing, engineering, mining and exploration industries. He also has experience in both Federal and Government Agency audits in Australia.

Sam has been involved in the profession and commerce for over thirty three years in Australia and overseas. Sam’s academic and technical skills, knowledge, and experience has enabled him to provide a wide range of professional services in the areas of Accounting and Auditing, International Marketing, Business Development, Financial Planning, Merchant Banking, Leadership, Organizational Development, Business and Process Improvement System. James is responsible for the IT Audit and Risk Consulting and the Internal Audit and Risk Consulting practices.

James Cottrill is an Information Systems specialist who has joined Stantons International after a long career with a “Big 4” firm. He has over 30 years’ experience in a variety of roles including accounting, information technology and audit. His experience includes IT general controls reviews, security vulnerability assessments, application control reviews and pre and post implementation reviews. Other reviews include audits of IT outsourcing agreements, formulation of organisation policies in relation to IT security and providing probity audit services for high value, technically complex IT tenders. James is also an experienced internal auditor. James’ clients include large corporate organisations, federal and state government departments and statutory authorities. He has performed a number of pre and post implementation reviews of applications with the majority of his experience being in SAP R/3 and Oracle Financials including the review of security of the Oracle database. He has attended the SAP R/3 security and controls at the Global Technology Centre in Philadelphia, USA and successfully passed the certification examination. He has performed IT general controls reviews based on the Australian Standard AS/NZS 27000 serries and has performed specific reviews in relation to operating systems, applications and network devices including reviewing network architectures and the performance of security vulnerability assessments using a variety of software tools by commercial and freeware. In addition he has performed IT maturity assessments using COBIT 5.0 (Control Objectives for Information and related Technologies) and application controls reviews using the same industry guideline. In terms of IT operations he has examined a variety of organisations assessing them against ITIL 3.0 (Information Technology Information Library).

He is responsible for the areas of Probity and Procurement and Training and Development within the probity and contracting areas of specialisation.

He is a leading practitioner of Supply Chain Management, with particular emphasis on the front-end processes of Inventory Management, Procurement and Contract Management. He is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and a member of other professional bodies and associations. He is an accredited Supply Chain Project Manager and an accredited Value Chain Management Project Manager and is a past Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management and the Singapore Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management.

He is an experienced public speaker, trainer and consultant who has undertaken consultancy and training tasks throughout Australia, South-East Asia and the Pacific region. He has been a presenter of professional papers on Outsourcing, Contract Management and Governance of the Procurement Function at conferences in Singapore, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Hoi Ann in Vietnam as recently as 2015.

He is a leader in the field of probity advisory services to government for major contracting processes and has recently concluded the provision of probity advisory services to some of the most significant public sector infrastructure projects being undertaken in Western Australia, including the Fiona Stanley Hospital Project, the New Children’s Hospital Project. He is currently providing probity advisory services to the New Perth Museum Project and for the sale of the Perth Market Authority, the Utah Point Port and the now deferred sale of the Fremantle Port.

He is a qualified chartered accountant. He has over 40 years experience in the accounting profession and was previously an audit and financial consulting partner for two of the large Big 4 Chartered Accounting firms in Australia. He has been a registered tax agent and a former accredited mediator with the Supreme Court of Western Australia, and a founding member, and former Chairman, of Accountants Assisting Commercial Dispute Resolutions Inc.

He has controlled the audits of clients involved in many facets of industry including newspapers, radio, mining and energy, home construction, property development, wholesale distribution, heavy engineering, insurance and leasing broking, property trusts, clothing, airlines, advertising, financial services and computer services.

He heads up the Corporate Services/Finance division of Stantons International, a mid tier accounting firm in Perth. The vast majority of the clients are listed public companies and the services include:

• Independent Expert’s Reports pursuant to Sections 411 and 611 of the Corporations Act and Listing Rule 10 of the ASX Listing Rules
• Capital raising advise, including preparation of prospectuses for initial public offerings, placements and rights issues

Brief

Martin is a chartered accountant with over 15 years of experience in the provision of external audit services to clients. He is experienced in audits of ASX listed companies in the resource, telecommunications and property development sectors, as well as the audits of local government authorities, not for profit organisations and due diligence reviews. He and also compiles independent experts reports and investigative accountant reports. Martin is also currently responsible for International assignments on behalf of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Australasian and Pacific region.

Previously, Martin worked for Deloitte in Bermuda where he was responsible for audits of large offshore hedge and mutual funds. He was seconded to banks acting in an operations review manager capacity. Till 30 June 2008, he worked as a manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Poland, auditing large multinational companies in the automotive, manufacturing, confectionary, real estate, retail and pharmaceutical sectors. For nearly 3 years, he was also extensively involved in quality control and risk management reviews of PwC offices throughout the Central and Eastern European Region, as well as in Africa.

Brief

Jorge is a chartered accountant with more than 30 years’ experience in public practice. Jorge has worked for 22 years with Deloitte & Touche in Zimbabwe, 14 of them as an audit partner. Jorge also spent 18 months in the San Francisco office of Deloitte & Touche. Jorge is currently the Quality Control Assessor of Audit Services for Stantons International. Jorge has serviced both the private and government sector. He has extensive experience in the audits of public listed companies and major clients in a wide range of industries in the public and private sectors, including mining, retail, insurance, food and manufacturing. He has extensive international experience through his involvement in the audits of subsidiaries of companies based in the United Kingdom, South Africa, USA and Canada. Jorge has been involved in the audits of large mining companies in Africa.

Jorge’s experience since moving to Australia includes the provision of external and internal audit services to listed and private companies, the audits of government agencies, due diligence reviews, the preparation of investigating accountant’s reports, valuations, corporate governance advice and litigation support. Jorge had also conducted audits on behalf of the Auditor General of Western Australia, as well as other government agencies.
